Aviation is a rapidly expanding sector in London and the South East. If you’d like to be part of this dynamic industry, then this course will set your career on the right path. Trips, visits and workshops will give you a first-hand experience of the sector.

  • Entry Criteria

    4 GCSEs (A*–C/9-4) including English or maths, or Level 2 Diploma or equivalent.

  • What will I study?

    All key aspects of aviation are covered including:

    • Aviation communications - develop the necessary knowledge and understanding of the principles of communication within aviation

    • UK airports

    • Commercial operations of airports and airlines - gain the knowledge and understanding of the many different sources of commercial revenue available to both airports and airlines

    • Worldwide passenger airlines

    • Work experience in travel and tourism - understand the processes, facilities and services provided for passengers travelling through airports, and also knowledge of the services and facilities provided by different types of airline

    • Flight operations

    • Investigating airline cabin crew - understand how onboard operations are coordinated and how cabin crew teams are led in order to maintain industry safety and service standards

    • Airport terminal operations

    • Airport ground operations

    • Health, safety and security in aviation - gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to manage and resolve major situations effectively in aviation

    • Leadership and human resources

    You will have the opportunity to go on an overseas visit and experience a destination as a professional in the industry.

  • Future Prospects

    You’ll be well placed to look for jobs in customer liaison, ramp work, cargo operations, ground handling or traditional airline roles such as cabin crew and customer service.
