Meet Sam Shore
Foundation Degree in Early Years
Meet Sam Shore, a graduate of the Foundation Degree in Early Years at West Herts College.
Sam chose to study higher education at West Herts College because it offered the flexibility she needed to balance her studies alongside work and family life. This structure allowed her to continue working while progressing academically.
During the course, Sam developed strong leadership skills and, most notably, greater confidence in herself. She praises the tutors for their consistent support, describing them as approachable, encouraging and always available when needed.
Graduation was both nerve-racking and exciting for Sam, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next. She is now progressing on to her Level 6 top-up qualification to achieve her full BA and looks back on her time at college as an overwhelmingly positive experience.
Sam’s advice to others considering the same path is:
“Just go for it. It’s amazing and completely worth the work. West Herts is a brilliant way to balance studying with work and family life.”
