West Herts College Musical Theatre students recently delivered a showstopping performance of Little Shop of Horrors with technical design, set and stage management provided by our brilliant Production Arts students. The cult classic was brought to life in a fantastic production bursting with energy, humour, heart and exceptional talent!

Set in the rundown streets of Skid Row, this much-loved musical follows the story of Seymour, a shy and awkward flower shop assistant who discovers a mysterious plant with an insatiable appetite. The story that follows is a darkly comedic tale of ambition, love and the consequences of getting everything you've ever wished for. From the opening number to the final curtain call, the students demonstrated incredible commitment, professionalism and creativity, delivering a production packed with memorable performances, dynamic choreography and impressive vocal harmonies.

Throughout the rehearsal process, students worked tirelessly to develop their characterisation, vocal technique, movement and storytelling, embracing the challenges of this musical with enthusiasm and determination. The result was a vibrant and entertaining production that showcased not only their individual talents but also their ability to work collaboratively as a company.

Hanna-Marie Cook, Lecturer for Performing Arts, reflected on the student production:

"Producing a full-scale musical is no small undertaking, and the students should be incredibly proud of the resilience, commitment and passion they demonstrated throughout the process. Their willingness to support one another, embrace challenges and push themselves creatively was evident in the final performances.”

Little Shop of Horrors was a fantastic celebration of the talent and potential of our Performing Arts students.
