Our Film & TV students celebrated the end of an incredible academic year in style last week at the highly anticipated WOscars 2025 – a glamorous, Oscars-inspired evening dedicated to recognising their creativity, hard work and achievements.
Hosted on campus, the event brought together students, tutors, and staff for a night of film, fun and heartfelt goodbyes. Dressed to impress, attendees walked the red carpet and took their seats for a screening of nominated projects, ranging from short dramas and documentaries to experimental film and comedy.
Awards were handed out for categories including Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Performance, and Best Editing, with judges praising the high standard of work across the board. Each award served as a testament to the students' passion, skill, and dedication over the past year.
The evening was also a chance to reflect and celebrate friendships, memories, and the journey ahead. Students took to the stage to thank their tutors and classmates, many sharing moving tributes as they prepare to take their next steps into university or industry roles.
Film & TV tutor, Jon Taylor, commented:
"The WOscars is a highlight of the year. It’s a chance for our students to showcase their talent and celebrate everything they’ve achieved – we’re so proud of every single one of them."
With lights dimming on another year, the WOscars 2025 marked a truly memorable send-off for our graduating Film & TV students. Congratulations to all our winners and nominees – we can’t wait to see what you do next!
