Students took part in a road safety workshop led by APEX, aimed at raising awareness of the risks faced by young motorcyclists and new road users.
Run in partnership with Road Policing Units across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, the session focused on helping 16 to 19 year olds stay safe on two wheels, all delivered in a fun, informal environment designed to get students actively engaged.
Interactive activities throughout the day included:
-
First aid demonstrations for responding to roadside incidents
-
Reaction time tests to show how quickly hazards can appear
-
The VR Vision Van, where students used a headset to experience the road from a rider’s perspective – including shoulder checks and hazard perception
-
Hands-on sessions covering protective gear, road awareness, and basic vehicle safety checks
By combining immersive technology with expert-led guidance, the workshop helped students connect with important safety messages in a way that was both informative and memorable
A big thank you to the APEX team and supporting partners for creating such a valuable experience for our students.
