Recently, we were delighted to welcome back Hubert, a former Level 2 Barbering student, who returned to college to inspire and support our current learners.
Now working professionally in a barbershop, Hubert shared valuable insight into life after college, speaking to students about the importance of professionalism, client expectations, and workplace standards within the barbering industry. His honest reflections gave students a clear understanding of what day to day professional practice really looks like. As part of his visit, Hubert delivered a live haircut demonstration, allowing students to observe industry techniques in action and ask questions about working in a real barbershop environment.
Seeing a former student succeed in the industry helped reinforce the skills and behaviours needed to progress from training into employment. Hubert also shared his top tip for anyone starting out in barbering, encouraging students to stay committed, keep learning, and always take pride in their work.
