Meet Joanna Wright, who completed a Foundation degree in Early Years and progressed onto a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education.

Joanna WrightJoanna chose to study Early Years as she was keen to become a primary school teacher and understand how children learn and develop. Having worked as a teaching assistant in a school, Joanna found that her degree reinforced her knowledge and supported her in her job role.

The Foundation degree provided Joanna with the opportunity to develop her communication skills, while learning how to use software, that would aid her as a teacher.

The course has also allowed Joanna to increase her confidence, which in turn has allowed her to achieve so much in her personal life and career. Joanna explained: “I have grown as an individual and now face new challenges, believing in myself and my own abilities”.

Since completing the course, Joanna is now studying the Initial Teacher Training course, on the path to becoming a qualified Primary School Teacher.

Reflecting on her experience, Joanna described the course as: “the perfect combination of theory, practice and experience all rolled into one”. She left feeling well-equipped to implement effective change into the lives of children.
