Hairdressing and Barbering Students Shine at Inter College Skills Competition

Our talented Hairdressing and Barbering students showcased their skills at the Inter College Skills Competition, held at MK College this week.

The competition provided students with a valuable opportunity to build confidence, test their technical ability, and experience the standards expected within the professional industry. Competing against students from other colleges, our students demonstrated creativity, precision and professionalism across a range of disciplines.

We are delighted to announce that Mason Young was awarded first place in the Level 2 Barbering category, marking an outstanding achievement for Mason

SpeakingSpeaking about his win, Mason said:
“It feels good to win, it’s the first competition I’ve attended and won. This hopefully sets a foundation for my future.”

Mason credited his success to the quality of his technical work and styling, which helped create a strong overall finish in a highly competitive category.

Looking ahead, Mason plans to continue developing his skills in the barbershop environment and build a fullhis client base as he progresses in his career.

Competitions such as these play an important role in preparing students for the workplace, helping them gain real-world experience, develop confidence under pressure, and showcase their talents to industry professionals.

A huge well done to all students who took part and represented the college so positively.
