Get a taste of life as a student at West Herts College

To help you prepare for joining us in September, we're running exciting taster sessions in July! These sessions are exclusive to offer holders and are designed to give you a first experience of your chosen course.

There is no better way to gain an insight into your chosen course than at a Taster Session, you’ll get hands on in a 2-hour interactive session to get a taste of what it’s like to study with us.

Taster Sessions last 2 hours, we have morning and afternoon sessions on offer. In your session you’ll participate in an activity related to your course, giving you a good idea of the types of skills you’ll be developing from September. These are group sessions where you'll meet your soon-to-be classmates, as well as course tutors, who will answer any questions about your course.

FAQ'S

  • Do I have to attend a Taster Session?

    Taster sessions are optional to attend, but we encourage you to do so as it’s a fantastic way to find out more about your course and prepare for joining us in September.  

  • What will happen at my Taster Session?

    On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by our Admissions team to sign in. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of your taster session. You can find directions for getting to college here. 

    Taster sessions will last 2 hours and in your session you’ll participate in an activity related to your course, giving you a good idea of the types of skills you’ll be developing from September. You can find out the details of this activity on your course taster session event page.

    These are group sessions where you'll also meet your soon-to-be classmates, as well as course tutors, who will answer any questions about your course.

  • What do I need to bring to my Taster Session?

    It will depend on the session you are attending. It’s always good to bring a pen, paper to take notes and water to stay hydrated. If there’s anything else, we’ll let you know by email closer to the time of the session so keep an eye on your inbox for more details. 

  • What do I need to wear to my Taster Session?

    It will depend on the session you are attending. For most sessions there is no dress code you can wear your usually clothing. For certain courses, there are requirements for what to wear to can find details on this on the taster session event page for your course. 

    We’ll also let you know by email closer to the time of the session so keep an eye on your inbox for more details.

If you're unable to attend your taster day but you still have questions about your course and want to get a feel for college life, our Summer Open Days take place this June.
