When applying for the Learner Support Fund, you will need to provide a range of evidence. The purpose of this guide is to outline examples of evidence as detailed in the Learner Support Fund application form. Until you have provided all the required evidence, your application is not complete and cannot be assessed. Below are some examples to help you understand what is required.
Household Income Evidence
When applying for financial support, you'll need to provide income evidence for all adults in the household. Please ensure that the address on your evidence is the same as the home address you used to apply or enrol to your course.
Universal Credit Statement
Please provide 3 full Universal Credit Statements for the past 3 months. Each statement must include:
• Name and address
• Payment date
• Take-home pay
• The Universal Credit amount received
• All details on your Universal Credit statement
You will need to either save a PDF or provide screenshots from your online UC account.
To qualify for Free College Meals (FCM) you must meet the following eligability:
- You (or your household) must earn less than £616 take-home pay per month or there is no take-home pay
- The total earnings received via Universal Credit does not exceed £45,000 per year
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Please provide your full Section 95 Asylum Support letter.
Payslips/Earned Income Evidence
Please provide one of the following:
- All payslips from the past 3 months
- P60, dated for the last financial year
- Tax return letter from HMRC, dated for the last financial year
Vulnerable Learner Bursary Evidence
The purpose of this guide is to outline examples of evidence as detailed in the Vulnerable Learner Bursary section of the Learner Support Fund application form.
Looked After Child Letter (from Social Worker)
A letter from a social worker confirming that you are looked after or currently in Local Authority care.
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
If you receives Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) under your own name, you may be eligible for the Vulnerable Learner Bursary. Proof of ESA must be provided.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Statement
If you receives PIP (Personal Independence Payment) under your own name, you will qualify for the Vulnerable Learner Bursary. A copy of the PIP statement must be submitted.
