  • Entry Criteria

    3 GCSEs (9-3) including English maths, science, or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme.

  • What will I study?

    Training is through a mix of theory and practice in our state-of-the-art lab spaces. You’ll study in our purpose-built ‘Innovation Lab’ using the latest technology and equipment to expand your understand of engineering, and uncover your technological specialism.

    You’ll study the following core and mandatory units:


    • The engineering world
    • Investigating an engineered product
    • Introduction to communications for engineering
    • Health and safety in engineering
    • Engineering materials
    • Interpreting and using engineering information
    • Mathematics for engineering

    You’ll also be able to choose from a number optional specialist units, including:


    • Engineering design
    • Electronic circuit design and construction
    • Fabrication techniques
    • Casting techniques
    • Engineering marking out
    • PC software and hardware in engineering

  • Future Prospects

    After completing your course you may be able to move on to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering or T Level in Design Surveying and Planning for Construction: Civil Engineering.
