  • What will I study?

    The practical, work-related nature of this course reflects the working life of a carpenter. Learning is by practical projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations and activities. It’s a solid foundation for work and a stepping stone to more advanced qualifications.

    Course subjects include:
    • Carrying out first and second fixing operations
    • Understanding construction technology
    • Understanding information, quantities and communication
    • Preparing and using carpentry and joinery portable power tools

  • Future Prospects

    Progress to an advanced carpentry programme NVQ alongside work, or start work as a junior carpenter.

    The Right Mix Once you're qualified you could pick up another Level 1 qualification and become a kitchen fitter, bathroom fitter or branch out to other trades, such as tiling or landscape gardening.
