This course is designed to provide students with knowledge around Health and Safety in the Construction industry and introduces students to the fundamental skills in Plumbing.

  • Entry Criteria

    To enrol on a Level 1, you should demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning and a commitment to developing the fundamental skills required for this chosen area of study. Typically, applicants will have:


    • Studied a GCSE programme or be able to demonstrate that you are working at Level 1.

  • What will I study?

    The course will focus on developing theory and practical skills. You’ll be studying in our specialist workshops at our Hemel Hempstead Campus, learning from tutors with years of professional industry experience.

    Students will continue to develop their numeracy and literacy skills as part of their programme of study. Your next steps matter and routes within Engineering and Construction need strong English and Maths.

  • Future Prospects

    Successful students can progress to a Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing.

    Where students do not achieve the 4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above including a grade 2 in English Language to go onto Level 1 Automotive Engineering or Motor Vehicle, Level 1 Diploma in Engineering Technologies is the alternative.
