This specialist course combines traditional craftsmanship with modern digital fabrication technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining. Delivered at our Watford campus, which boasts excellent workshop and digital fabrication facilities, the programme offers students a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and industry knowledge, preparing them for higher education or employment in the creative sector

  • Entry Criteria

    4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language, or a Level 2 qualification in a related subject.

  • What will I study?

    This two-year, full-time UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma will cover:


    • Prop Design and Fabrication – working with wood, metal, plastics, foam, and moulding techniques
    • Modelmaking and Miniature Construction – creating detailed models for film, TV, and exhibitions
    • Digital Fabrication – CAD design, 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining
    • Casting and Mould Making – professional finishing techniques
    • Professional Practice – teamwork, project management, and portfolio development

    Learning is project-based, with industry-inspired briefs and opportunities to collaborate on creative productions.
