  • Entry Criteria

    There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, literacy and numeracy skills are desirable as you will need to complete a workbook.

    You will need to have a Hertfordshire postcode due to this course being Hertfordshire funded.

  • What will I study?

    The course content is subject to change but may include any of the following:

    Identify school structures, systems and procedures. Discuss the school day and classroom organisation. Discuss the role of the teaching assistant and determine the personal and professional qualities required in the role. Discuss learning styles and identify how these impact on learning. Awareness of the national curriculum and exploring literacy and numeracy strategies. Identify SEN at the present time. Recognise a variety of specific learning difficulties and the mechanisms available to support pupils. Recognise the principles of Child Protection Policies and confidentiality. Examine how schools promote positive behaviour amongst pupils.
