Entry Criteria
To ensure you are eligible to book this course online, you must have one of the following:
A current ECS Gold Card for:
- Installation Electrician
- Maintenance Electrician
- Domestic Electrician
Or
Any of the following qualifications, plus the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification if your qualification was achieved more than 5 years ago:
- C&G 5393 Electrotechnical in Dwellings
- C&G 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical (installation or maintenance)
- C&G 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (buildings, structures, and the environment)
- C&G 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
- C&G 2347 Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification

What will I study?
The C&G 2921-34 EV charging course is designed for qualified electricians looking to upskill in the design, installation and maintenance of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging installations.
This course is mainly a theory-based course covering:
- Know the key documentation and legislation in relation to electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE)
- Know the different types and features of EVSE
- Understand design considerations for EVSE installations
- Understand testing, commissioning and handover requirements specific to the installation of electric vehicle charging equipment and circuits in domestic and small commercial settings
- Understand the use of vehicles as electrical energy storage systems as part of prosumer’s installations
