Entry Criteria
A good knowledge of basic Spanish, including the conjugation of verbs in the present and present perfect tenses, is required.
-
What will I study?
You will cover a range of useful vocabulary and consolidate the use of verbs in the present and present perfect tenses. You will be introduced to the preterit tense to talk about past events and some further grammar, such as the use of ‘Qué + adjective/noun’, will be covered.
These topics will improve your ability to hold conversations with Spanish speakers on familiar topics, give opinions, discuss past events and experiences and tell anecdotes. Cultural awareness will also be developed.
There will be some flexibility to tailor the specific topic areas to the needs of the group.
Grammar will be studied to provide for progression in the language but there will be plenty of opportunity for practising speaking skills.
No materials other than a pen and paper are necessary. It is strongly recommended that the vocabulary, phrases and grammar studied each week are reviewed between classes in order to get the most out of this course.

Future Prospects
This course will enable students to develop their basic knowledge of the Spanish language, allowing them to use past and future tense as well as the present tense, and to hold basic conversations using the learned language.
