    You do not require any formal qualifications for this course.

    You will be required to attend an assessment session, which includes an interview and diagnostic assessment, to assess your current level and offer you a place on the most suitable level.

    We provide Functional Skills qualifications across 3 levels (Entry 1 to Entry 3).

  • What will I study?

    The modules on the course will cover three main content areas:

    • Using numbers and the number system
    • Using common measures, shape and space
    • Handling data and information

    You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in areas including:

    • Addition
    • Subtraction
    • Multiplication
    • Division
    • Money
    • Fractions, decimals and percentages
    • Converting measurements
    • Charts and graphs
    • Tables and statistics
    • Averages
    • Calculating area: shapes and space
    • Using a calculator

    At the end of your course, you will sit one maths exam with two portions (a calculator and a non-calculator portion).
