    You will be required to attend an assessment session, which includes an interview and diagnostic assessment, to assess your current level and offer you a place on the most suitable level.

    We provide Functional Skills qualifications across 3 levels (Entry 1 to Entry 3).

  • What will I study?

    On this course, you will develop the skills to speak, listen, communicate, read and write in English with increasing clarity, accuracy and effectiveness.

    You will learn skills that will enable you to:

    • Listen, understand and respond to verbal communication in a range of familiar contexts;
    • Acquire an understanding of everyday words and their uses and effects, and apply this understanding in different contexts;
    • Read with accuracy straightforward texts encountered in everyday life and work, and develop confidence to read more widely; and
    • Write straightforward texts and documents with clarity and effectiveness, and demonstrate a sound grasp of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
