  • Entry Criteria

This course is suitable for those with some prior experience, for example completion of the Introduction to Upholstery course delivered on a Thursday evening.

  • What will I study?

This is largely decided by the item you choose to work on; if you have not completed the Beginners course, contact us before you start this course for discussion and advice.

The course will be practical, with students taking their own notes to complete portfolios of their work. This class is a leisure course and therefore there are no exams.

Students will develop their skills and knowledge relating to their specific project work which will include some or all of the following:

    A more advanced understanding of:

    • The different types of springing systems
    • The applying of webbing and hessian
    • Traditional stitching techniques, or how to measure and cut foam
    • Measuring and calculating for top cover fabric
    • Cutting and fitting top cover fabric

Students are expected to be able to finish their work to a high standard.

  • Future Prospects

Put your skills into practice at home now that you have a solid understanding of upholstery.
