Entry Criteria
You will need 48 UCAS points. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* - C (9-4) in maths and English language (or equivalent).

What will I study?
You will be expected to develop the following skills during the programme: ? Work as an individual and collaborate as part of a team for the successful completion of real industry live briefs ? Work on multiple complex technical or professional challenges and activities. ? Develop an appreciation of the multi-discipline nature of video game design in regards to solving complex issues. ? Analyse, synthesise and summarise information and data critically ? Design, plan, undertake, test and report on investigations, exploration, experimentation and outcome in a safe, appropriate and ethical manner. ? Apply subject knowledge and creativity to address familiar and unfamiliar problems ? Think laterally, be innovative in relevant contexts, and make decisions that influence the success of projects and/or team objectives.
Throughout this course, you will have full access to a range of industry-standard software including: ? Adobe Photoshop for Concept Art and Digital Illustration ? Autodesk Maya and Blender for 3D modelling, UV mapping, and Animation ? Zbrush for Digital Sculpting ? Substance Painter and Designer for Texture production ? Unreal Engine 5 for building game worlds and functional prototypes
Your first-year modules will include:
Concept & Development (85 credits) ? Explore the history, theories and developments related to the area of practice. ? Explore and develop ideas, based on an iterative approach to problem solving in creative practice. ? Explore technical knowledge and skills necessary to support creative practice. ? Explore professional knowledge, behaviours and practices within the sector. ? Explore techniques, media and formats to communicate ideas and concepts for diverse audiences.
Creative Project (35 credits)
? Apply relevant contextual knowledge to inform a creative project. ? Analyse a given brief to develop creative solutions, applying an iterative development process. ? Apply technical knowledge and skill in the production of a project outcome. ? Demonstrate professional knowledge, behaviours and practices in response to a given brief. ? Present the development process and outcomes of a creative project for a specified audience.Your second-year modules will include:

HNDs provide nationally recognised qualifications that offer career progression, professional development, employment opportunities and further progression within Higher Education.
Upon completion you could continue your studies with progression onto a Level 6 BA Hons course in; Games Art, Games Design or Games Development.
Alternatively, because of the industry focus of this qualification you can progress straight into your career. Possible fields include Concept Artist, 3D Artist, Level Designer, Animator, Environment Artist and Technical Artist.
