Develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to become a Barber, while working as an Apprentice in a barber shop and training on the job.

  • Entry Criteria

    GCSE Maths 9-2 and GCSE English 9-2. You’ll also need paid employment in a barber shop for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

    • Holistic working practises
    • Consultation
    • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
    • Cut hair using barbering techniques to create a variety of looks
    • Style and finish men’s hair
    • Cut facial hair into shape
    • Provide shaving services

    To achieve the qualification, you will need to complete an end point assessment.

  • Future Prospects

    You can become a barber in a salon, or progress onto Level 2 diploma for Hair Professionals: Hairdressing Apprenticeship.
