This apprenticeship focuses on the essential skills for building service engineering, including low-carbon heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump engineering, and plumbing. These services are critical in domestic, industrial, and commercial buildings such as offices, factories, schools, and hospitals.

  • Entry Criteria

    English and Maths Grade 4 or above and be working towards Level 2 after initial assessments and diagnostics in these subjects.

    • Health, safety, and regulatory requirements
    • General building service functions and systems, including roles and responsibilities
    • Use of materials, relevant tools and equipment

    Achieving my qualification

    To successfully complete the apprenticeship, apprentices must:

    • Complete all required practical training hours
    • Build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating workplace competence
    • Pass any required knowledge tests
    • Complete Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English (if needed)
    • Successfully pass the End-Point Assessment (EPA)
