Invigilators

We are currently looking for flexible, well organised individuals to join our team of Examination Invigilators to work on a casual basis throughout the year.

The roles will be based at Watford campus, Hemel Hempstead campus or Barnfield College in Luton, with the opportunity to work across multiple sites depending on individual availability. Experience is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.

The key priority for this role is to invigilate both national and on demand examinations. This will require the successful applicant to ensure compliance with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations regarding security of examination papers and the running of the exams themselves.

Applicants must be well organised, with a good attention to detail, confident in dealing with young people, enforcing examination regulations and able to remain calm under pressure.

Training

All successful applicants will complete mandatory online training via The Exam Office prior to their first scheduled invigilation session. There is also West Herts Specific training to be completed following this.

Successful applicants will be provided log in details once onboarding is completed.

Availability

There are 5 GCSE dates in November that applicants need to be available for:

• Tuesday 3^rd November 2026
• Wednesday 4^th November 2026
• Thursday 5^th November 2026
• Friday 6^th November 2026
• Monday 9^th November 2026

All GCSE exams run in the morning and invigilators will be required on site from 08:30am.

Following this, there will be two further national exam series during the academic year (January and April – June) and on demand exams that run regularly depending on applicant availability.
