Job description Person specification

Are you passionate about helping young people develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for successful careers in Health, Early Years and Education? The School of Health, Education and Care is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Lecturer to inspire learners and support them in achieving their full potential during their time at West Herts College.

The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess across a range of Health, Early Years and Education programmes, including T Levels, Health and Social Care qualifications and related courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3. You will play a key role in preparing learners for further study, apprenticeships and employment within the Health, Childcare and Education sectors.

The role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning through effective lesson planning, resource development, assessment and feedback. You will support learners throughout their programme, helping them develop both the technical knowledge and employability skills required for successful progression.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience of T Level delivery, industry placements, Early Years, Childcare or Education settings. A strong understanding of employer engagement and supporting students in gaining meaningful industry experiences would be highly valued.

This opportunity would suit an adaptable and inspirational practitioner who is passionate about education and has recent industry experience in Early Years, Childcare, Health and Social Care, or a related field.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care, Early Years, Childcare, Education, or a related subject area, together with relevant vocational experience. A teaching qualification is desirable; however, full teacher training and development will be provided for the successful candidate.

This is a full-time role working at our Hemel Hempstead Campus. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 28th September 2026.

You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be encouraged to upskill.
