The School of Hair, Beauty and Creative are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join their team at the Luton Campus as a Learning Assistant in Media.
The successful candidate will be part of the curriculum team, leading practical teaching sessions and working alongside teaching staff to support learning. The role requires a proactive individual to provide practical support to the staff and students in classrooms with activities such as:
- Video Production and Editing
- Audio Production
- Graphic design & visual content
- Animation & motion graphics
- Digital and web media
- Social media & content management
- Equipment and technical support
This is a hands-on role in our TV studio, supervising and coaching students on formative and summative assessment tasks such as Creating a Music Video, Live TV production, creating a documentary and more. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge on to others, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
You will support with the setup and preparation of the TV studio, assessment areas and resources; working to ensure all equipment and stock is maintained and meets the needs of the students and industry requirements. You should be confident with the following software and be able to coach and teach this to learners:
- Adobe premiere pro
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe After effects
You will be working with groups of students with developing their practical work and impart your industry experience to further develop our student’s employability skills relevant to their career goals. You will also be supporting students with their final project work.
You may be required to manage all stock and demonstrate correct and safe use of equipment to students and staff. This could include ordering resources, booking, and allocating equipment, maintaining it or preparing it for planned practical use in lessons.
The successful candidate will always promote professionalism and excellent customer service. You will have a good practical knowledge of the Creative Media department with relevant qualifications and Industry experience.
It is essential that you have a professional manner, good communication skills and are capable of interpreting technical information and explaining it clearly.
This is a term time only position working 33 hours per week at our Luton Campus, 34 weeks per year.
