Who is the course for?
- Those starting a career in welding or engineering
- Those thinking about welding as a career, but who would like some experience first
- Those who are new to welding
- Those who work in an engineering field and require practical skills in welding
Funding
Some applicants may be eligible for fee waivers to cover the cost of course fees, if you require financial support then please contact our admissions team to discuss your eligibility prior to your enrolment.

What will I study?
This course is largely of a practical nature with a small element of theory. It is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set-up and welding terminology.
There are three pathways, students will need to select their desired pathway as part of their enrolment to the course:
- Manual Metal Arc
- Metal Inert Gas
- Tungsten Inert Gas
Our admissions team will contact you ahead of enrolment to discuss your pathway choice, the course tutor can provide more detailed information about each pathway if you are unsure which route is best for you.

Future Prospects
After studying this course, you will have the essential practical skills for careers such as Welder, Fabricator Welder or Pipe Fitter Welder. The skills you develop on this course will also support careers in Engineering, Motor Vehicle, Plumbing and many job roles which focus on environmentally friendly engineering skills.
