Job description Person specification

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our high-performing team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a proven record of engaging adult and young learners.
The School of Language, Literacy and Numeracy are looking for an experienced and suitably qualified tutor, with a degree or higher in Maths.

The successful candidate will teach across Functional Skills Maths and GCSE Maths and preferably have the experience of teaching across all levels. Our adult provision includes college and community-based courses that run during the day and evenings from pre-entry to GCSE.
This role would be suitable for someone with an understanding of adult learners and the ability to deliver innovative learning opportunities to meet their needs.

We welcome applications from experienced and newly qualified teachers, who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and have a desire to work with adult learners. FE or community teaching experience and a formal teaching qualification is desirable, although if you are willing to obtain your teacher training qualifications, we would also like to hear from you.

The successful applicant will need to be available to work across our Watford and Hemel Hempstead Campuses. This is an hourly paid role.
The closing date for applications is 23rd August 2026. Interviews will be in week commencing 31st August 2026.

You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be encouraged to upskill.

We have a free on-site gym at our Watford Campus and you can access a wide range of discounts and benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking, pension, generous holiday scheme, time off at Christmas and early finishes on a Friday.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact a member of the Human Resources team who will be happy to help. WHC Group is positive about disabled people. If you need help applying for a role, please contact us.
