Working in partnership with BBC Music Introducing
West Herts College is delighted to announce an exciting partnership to produce and record BBC Music Introducing in Beds, Herts and Bucks.
The College’s Music department was selected for this unique opportunity to work with the BBC and produce and record live music sessions for BBC Music Introducing, a platform dedicated to discovering and supporting new music.
This partnership provides our students with the invaluable experience of producing, recording and editing live music sessions to industry standard to be broadcast on BBC Music Introducing.
Once recorded, the footage and music is uploaded to the BBC Sounds app and website. We'll be uploading the new sessions here every month. We've now had 4 sessions at the college, click the name below to listen to the recordings:
Our HND Music students took charge of the live recording, whilst with our Level 3 Film & TV students filmed the session. This is a great opportunity for our Music and Film & TV students, the course tutors will be changing students each time, letting as many students as possible be involved.
The college prides itself on being an industry leader in the area for music facilities, being innovative and providing our students with valuable experience.
Danny Fullbrook, BBC Music presenter: “the equipment and set up here is incredible, I’m impressed with the quality of work being shown by the students during the sessions.”
Samuel Carmody, Level 3 Film and TV student said: “Taking part in the shoot for West Herts College and the BBC was a really insightful and an exciting opportunity to be involved with. I thoroughly enjoyed setting up the lighting and making the shoots look professional and creative, as well as using the glide cam for the shoot. It was also great to work under professional conditions alongside other passionate young film makers. When I saw the final edit on the BBC website, it was one of my greatest achievements in film and TV. I am super excited to be involved in future opportunities like this.”
Keep an eye out on our website and our socials for the next sessions.
