What to expect at a West Herts College Open Day
West Herts College has been a place where students can find their passions, feed their ambitions and get the skills they need to help land their dream job. Attend one of our Open Days to find out how we can help you reach you goals.
Our Open Days are the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in College life. You will have the chance to explore our state-of-the-art facilities, meet expert tutors and discover the exciting courses that we have on offer.
What actually happens at an open day?
When you arrive you’ll be greeted by our welcoming team who will give you a goody bag filled with everything you need for the day.
To help you get around, you’ll receive a room list and programme to make sure you don’t miss out.
Then you’re free to explore our campus and facilities. Enjoy and participate in interactive workshops, speak to our experienced tutors and chat to our current students about their courses.
Complete your application in one day
Once you've found the course for you, head to see our Admissions team where you can apply on the spot and enquire about our student support services that are available.
We'll be holding Course Introduction Meetings (CIMs) on the day - the next stage of your application process. Your CIM is the perfect chance to hear from your Head of School and get all your questions answered. For more information, click here.
After attending your CIM, you will be offered a place to study with us in September.
New to 2022!
Did you know... we now offer A Levels in a variety of course subjects, to find out more click here.
Plan ahead and do some research

Visiting us can help if you’re deciding between Sixth Form and College. Only at an Open Day will you get a real insight into what the differences are, and see which is the correct fit for you.
If you’re stuck between a few subjects and you’re not sure which one to sure, make sure to check out all of them.
Classrooms will be set up to show you what kind of activities you can look forward to doing on that course. Tutors will be on hand to talk to you and your parents/guardians about the details of our courses including entry requirements, their industry experience, what the courses consist of and progression routes.
Make sure you ask all the right questions - for example how much of the course is practical and how much is theoretical? What will your timetable look like? Also make sure you take down the tutors’ name in case you think of any other questions when you get home.
Speak to our current students
