West Herts College students meet Holocaust survivor in annual trip to local Synagogue

In their annual visit to Watford Synagogue, West Herts College Health and Social Care students found out more about the history of the Holocaust.

The students from our Level 2 and Level 3 courses had the rare opportunity to hear a Holocaust survivor recount their personal story and take part in a workshop discussing historical facts.

They met Hannah, who recalled how the day her mother was shot dead by the Nazis was the day her childhood ended.

As well as Hannah, this year’s speakers sharing their remarkable stories of survival were Susan Pollack, Rachel Levy, Ziggy Shipper and Manfred Goldberg.

Following the visit, students furthered their studies by researching more on the history of racism, discrimination and personal responsibility.
