West Herts College Football Programme - Latest match reports

(WHC) Kings Langley, (Chad Charles) 1-2 Bromley

The first half was a very level, fair and competitive affair. Bromley missed a penalty in the first half, a missed opportunity that at the time seemed crucial. West Herts started the better team, with some intricate football being played in the right areas of the pitch. They soon went 1 -0 up with a well worked goal, Chad Charles finishing well with a looping half volley that nestled in the bottom corner.

Unfortunately, after going 1 –0 up, West Herts conceded 2 goals in the space of 2 minutes and couldn't quite recover, disappointingly losing out in a closely fought game.

Dartford 0-3 (WHC) Kings Langley FC, (Kieran Odonoghue x2 Joel Barros)

In a tight first half with few chances for either side, and very little to split the two teams, West Herts went closest to breaking the deadlock; hitting the bar and having a shot well saved by Nathan Bloohn. The second half was an entirely different affair, the pitch having an added zip due to continued heavy rain.

The first goal was scored by Kieran O'Donoghue, a fantastic finish from twenty yards out that seemingly came from nothing. After taking the lead, O'Donoghue's second goal came from a short corner, delicately lobbing a helpless goalkeeper and giving West Herts some breathing space.

Going into the latter stages of the game, West Herts were looking more and more comfortable, soon amounting in a third goal. Joel Barros, who had been relatively quiet by his usual standards, finished the game off with a well worked counter attacking goal. Starting from the right, a precise squared ball across from O'Donaghue resulted in an easy finish for the winger, capping off a fantastic team performance and a comfortable win.
