TFL visits College to discuss new Watford Met line extension
Representatives from Transport for London recently visited students at our Kings Langley campus, to talk about the engineering works taking place over the next four years for the new Watford Metropolitan line extension.
Olivia White, Stakeholder Communications Manager at TFL, delivered a presentation to over 60 engineering students about the planned works and the 6,500 jobs that this redevelopment is going to create. Olivia thoroughly enjoyed engaging with our students and is already looking to send TFL contractors to ‘Careers Week’ in the hope of finding suitable work for West Herts College students.
This experience was a great opportunity for students to hear from industry experts on how promising the local jobs market is for young engineers and, the sort of jobs that are required and what it takes to fill these roles. The talk saw record numbers of students attend for an external visit.
