Students to compete at SkillELECTRIC Regional Heat
Two Electrical Installation apprentices from our Kings Langley campus have qualified for the regional heat of the SkillELECTRIC competition, taking place on Thursday 26 May.
Eliot France and Ryan Bunce will be attending the event, which is organised by National Electrotechnical Training (NET) and will be taking place in Chichester, after being selected by their tutors for their exceptional skills.
If they among the highest scorers they will then progress to the UK final in November, which will take place at the Skills Show (the UK’s largest skills and careers event, with over 80,000 visitors) and may also have the chance to represent their country. Eliot, who is currently working for Sensor Electrical, said, “It’s going to be a fun day out – there’s not too much pressure,” whilst Ryan, who has an apprenticeship with JC Electrics, added, “I’m excited. It’s a good thing to add to my CV as I eventually want to work for myself, and hopefully go to Australia.” Both students also spoke to Christopher Evans, one of our students who came second in last year’s UK final. Chris was happy to offer up advice and wished the boys well, saying that the competition was a great experience for him.
Good luck, Eliot and Ryan!
