Students prepare and cook locally sourced Oxhey Park Crayfish
Sandy Belloni, a resident in the Oxhey area is heavily involved in many community projects. One of Sandy's goal is to keep the Oxhey Park a safe, pleasant and clean area for everyone to enjoy. Sandy is site supervisor at Paddock Road Allotments and also actively helps manage and preserve the rivers and waterways in the Colne Catchment which stretches from North Mimms to Staines.
The Colne Valley Fisheries Consultative donated locally caught Crayfish with some from Oxhey park, these Sandy kindly delivered to the College for our Food students to cook and prepare in lesson.
This was a very enjoyable lesson for our Level 2 students, and a great experience learning how to prepare and cook Crayfish.
Take a look at them in action…
