Selfless Music student performs outside local care homes

Our incredibly talented Level 3 Music student, Harrison, has been playing music for elderly residents at St Lauras Care Home in Kings Langley.

Unable to go into the care home, Harrison set up his keyboard in the car park where he played music for the residents to enjoy.

The elderly residents were treated to fan favourites such as The Beatle’s ‘Hey Jude’, popular Judy Garland tracks and many more.

Harrison explains: “I regularly play at care homes across Hertfordshire and I have been for almost a year. It’s a great way to entertain the residents and get some genuinely honest feedback!

“Because of Coronavirus I was told I couldn’t go into the care homes anymore, but I didn’t want to disappoint anyone so I thought ‘well it can’t stop me playing outside for them’.

“I set up my keyboard, got some wires through the window and started to play. I’m glad I could still be there for the residents whilst everyone was still safe inside.

“I hope my music gave them some comfort if they were feeling down or lonely.”

Once Harrison completes his studies at West Herts College, he hopes to pursue a career in song writing and we can’t wait to see the amazing things he’s sure to achieve!
