Patryk Nowak - Supported Internship at Flourish Craft Bakery
Foundation Studies student Patryk Nowak is currently completing his Supported Internship placement at Flourish Craft Bakery the artisan bakery supplying wholesale breads and pastries to restaurants, hotels, markets, cafes and stores.
Patryk has a passion for baking and cooking making Flourish the perfect environment to develop his skills and knowledge in his area of interest. Patryk now travels to and from work independently via public transport and is progressing extremely well at the bakery.
Patryk expressed his enjoyment of the role saying: "I'm devoted to my job at Flourish. I love it there. The work that I do is relaxing. My Job Coaches are on site with me and are always there to support me if needed. Flourish Bakery is a fantastic place for my Internship, I'm learning a lot about the industry."
A Supported Internship is specifically aimed at young people aged 16-24 who have a statement of special educational needs, a Learning Difficulty Assessment, or an Education Health and Care plan, who want to move into employment and need extra support to do so.
