Osborne provides students with new tools

West Herts College Building Services students, at our Dacorum campus, were provided with brand new gardening and landscaping tools by Osborne to help renovate and maintain the grounds of our Dacorum campus.

As part of the College’s GAP programme, students are tasked with completing work experience hours to help develop key employability skills. With the new tools provided by Osborne, College students will be earning GAP hours and developing landscaping skills by upholding the planted areas on campus, and in doing so brightening up the campus ready for the opening of the our brand new campus in Spring 2017.

Hannah Bailey, Community Investment Coordinator at Osborne said “Osborne are pleased to be supporting the students of West Herts College in their latest GAP project. We hope that the gardening equipment donated will enable the students to get started with the project. Our team are looking forward to joining the students during the works to lend a hand and pass on any valuable advice for working in the construction industry.”

Osborne is one of the UK’s leading construction businesses and is Dacorum Borough Council’s repairs and maintenance contract. This opportunity provides both the College and Osborne the chance to help rejuvenate the area, as well as giving students the chance to work with, and learn from industry specialists.

Head of School for Building Services Glenn Roger, is delighted with the gesture from Osborne and excited about further opportunities that this may lead to. “I am very pleased to be working with an organisation that also placed servicing the local community high on their agenda.”
