Osborne brought construction to life for our Level 2 Engineering students
25 Level 2 Engineering students visited the team at Osborne’s Gade Valley Project for an industry introduction session.
The day on site started off with an induction which took students on a journey of Information Management and Building Information Modelling (BIM) using iPads and the BIM360 app.
The students were then set the task of building a Lego model of the London skyline using only the information held within the Autodesk BIM360 Project. This included a 3D model of the Lego set they were building and QA style checklist to be completed throughout the process.
The students were then taken on a site tour where they went up to see the works being carried out on the M25 Bridge. The day came to a finish with a presentation detailing the different routes into the industry.
Dominic Lowry, Technology Improvement Manager at Osborne said: “We were pleased to take part in this introduction session with the students. It was a great way to help raise awareness of the variety of careers that are available to them within the construction industry.”
