National Photography Competition Success
Photography students Erin Quinn and Kwame Jantuah placed as runners-up in their respective categories at the National Student Photography Competition.
The students submitted their work to the competition as part of their studies, with the competition’s theme being ‘Saturday Night at the Movies’. The competition included multiple categories, and students could approach the concept using various experimental techniques, both digital and darkroom based.
Students from colleges throughout the country submitted their work with over 1000 submissions being received!
Runner-up, Erin Quinn in the Darkroom/Film category said: “My tutors were a big inspiration! The course itself has really helped to bring out my creative side. I never thought I would get anything out of the competition, but it just goes to show what you can do with a great mind-set!”
Finishing as a runner-up in the Digital category, Kwame Jantuah said “Never forget to smile and be proud of what you can achieve! My teachers really pushed me to reach my goals and I am really proud of my place in the competition. It demonstrates how quickly skills can develop when you have fun and enjoy what you do.”
Photography students, Georgianne King Smith and Benjamin Alfon have also made the final selection of the competition. Congratulations to all the students that submitted work!
