Inter FE Games 2018

Just under 100 students represented West Herts College in this year’s Inter FE games, where a number of local colleges competed in a variety of sports. We finished runners up to North Herts College who prevented us from taking home the trophy for a third successive year.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day on which our teams were triumphant in a number of events against Oaklands College, North Herts College and Hertford Regional College, at the University of Hertfordshire.

Tom Klymkiw, West Herts College Leisure and Wellbeing Coordinator, said: “I am immensely proud of all our students, many of whom hadn’t played together before, including the female netballers who came first in their event! I am really pleased that so many of our students attended and enjoyed the day whilst respecting the event and the other competitors. For our SEN students to win at football and boccia was delightful to see and I am extremely proud of their efforts and achievements.”

Keon Britton, a Level 3 Aviation student who took part in the football competition, said: “Through competing I have improved my communication skills and I have formed a strong bond with my teammates. I’m extremely proud because we all worked together to perform to the best of our abilities whilst representing our college.”

The results of the events are as follows:
