How to access college remotely

Lessons are currently taking place remotely, here are some helpful links and tips for accessing college from home.

Microsoft Teams
Your tutors will be delivering classes via Microsoft Teams, please click here to open the application.

How to access Microsoft Teams

1. Once you have clicked the above link to the Microsoft Teams application, click the purple button that says 'Download Teams'.

A download will begin in your download bar at the bottom of your web browser.

2. Once the download is complete, click the finished download icon displayed at the bottom of your web browser.

This will start up the application.

3. When you launch Microsoft Teams, the first display message should prompt you to type in your student e-mail and password.

Log in with your usual West Herts College credentials to access your dashboard. Once logged on, you will be able to access the lessons set up by your tutors.

Canvas
Tutors will be posting worksheets and other helpful documents on Canvas for students to use whilst working remotely. To log in please click here and use your usual college username and password.

LRC and StudyPlus
StudyPlus sessions booked for the coming weeks will go ahead at the planned time, but will be delivered remotely. Please log in to Microsoft Teams and await a video call invitation from a member of the LRC staff.

Student Support
Our support services are accessible to you still when working remotely. Contact the team directly by emailing heretohelp@westherts.ac.uk or calling 01923 812345 and asking to speak to a member of the team.

Study Net

If you are studying a Foundation degree with West Herts College, you can access the University of Hertfordshire’s online learning portal, Study Net. Click here and use your email and password to log in.
