Hair Professional apprentice, Jemma Cawley, wins Fellowship Special Recognition award at Concept Hair award ceremony
We're thrilled to announce Jemma Cawley, a Level 2 Hair Professional apprentice, was awarded the Fellowship Special Recognition award at the Concept Hair Learner of the Year award ceremony. Jemma was awarded second place in the Learner of the Year award, a fantastic feat amongst a total of 1,700 entrants.
The competition saw hairstyles set prior to the event and the contestants then had 30 minutes to finalise the hairstyle on a model.
The theme for the final was ‘vintage retro.’ Jemma chose to style a Mohican and her look was so popular with the judges, it was handpicked for ‘Photographers’ Choice’, check out Jemma’s design below.
The Concept Hair Learner of the Year competition gives the next generation of hairdressers and barbers the chance to showcase their hard work and skills. Jemma demonstrated a real cutting edge throughout the competition and displayed professionalism and passion for the industry.
Jemma had support around her to help her reach the final: “I trialled a few different hairstyles, my manager has been a judge for L’Oréal competitions in the past, so they gave me some excellent support.”
