GAP project with NHS Trust

West Herts College has teamed up with Think about It Films and the NHS to produce a music video, raising awareness for over-prescribed drugs.

Ian Port, from Think About It Films, got in touch with West Herts College regarding a project for the NHS. They asked for us to find a student responsible for recording a rap song for a brief short film or the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

Our GAP team took this opportunity onto the Music department, where tutor Dominic Brumwell suggested that Level 3 Music student, Mark Johnson would be the perfect performer for this video.

Mark was was asked to provide a short demo which was sent to the client and then an interview with Ian and his colleague, after a successful interview process Mark was selected to take part. From this point on Mark was heavily involved in the process and his tutor Dom supported him all the way.

The video is about reminding clinical staff that it’s important not to over-prescribe drugs to patients as this has safety implications for the patients and can be costly to the NHS. The music video will be shown by the Herts Hospital Trusts, with the possibility of further take-up, nationally.

Take a look at the video below.
