Food Academy students win ‘mystery box’ challenge
Harlow College hosted a ‘mystery box’ challenge for our Year 2 Food Academy students. Mark Ignacio and Anneliese Bird had a short amount of time to create a three-course meal using only the secret ingredients contained in the box.
Our students competed against teams from Waltham Forest, North Herts and Herts Regional colleges.
Mark and Anneliese created a sophisticated menu which included quail breast, stuffed pork loin and a mouth-watering brioche bread and butter pudding which led them to victory.
Anneliese said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to get creative under pressure with other students who share the same passion for food as us.”
Stuart Smith, judge and senior tutor at Harlow College, praised the efforts of all the competitors.
Mark and Anneliese won a meal for two at any Marriot Hotel, £50 Itunes vouchers each and the Russums Cup.
