Food Academy students serving the stars

Front of house staff and chefs from the Level 3 Hospitality and Events Management and Professional Cookery courses were involved in delivering the catering for the Brit Awards - the most prestigious music awards ceremony. Our students had to prepare and deliver food for 1,600 people! All being served in the space of an hour and half.  

On arrival they were given an exclusive tour by the event coordinators of the arena floor, backstage and the all-important celebrity suites.

Students prepared three courses for some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry and Emeli Sande.

Yasmin Howell, Level 3 Professional Cookery student, said: “This is by far the most high-profiled event we've done. It’s been such a great opportunity to work on a scale this big, it’s been great to see how the event coordinators work under pressure and the effort that goes in to an event like this.”

Starter

Pickled salsify ribbons with chanterelle mushrooms and Romney marsh herbs, cured Lincolnshire fennel, parsley oil.

Main

Herefordshire beef, Middle East shawarma, grilled gem lettuce and red pepper, chick pea and coriander puree, butternut squash and red onion falafel.

Dessert
