Film & TV Students win big at the WOscars
West Herts College Level 3 Film & TV students celebrated the end of the academic year in style with their annual awards night, the WOscars. The WOscars is a formal event designed for students, tutors, family and friends to celebrate the creative accomplishments and graduation of 2nd year students.
The memorable evening saw awards being presented to a number of students in various categories such as ‘Best Producer’, ‘Best Cinematographer’ and the coveted ‘Student Recognition Award’. During the ceremony, the audience watched each winning Final Major Project and learned more about the journey each student embarked on for their project.
Course leader Jonathan Vianello said: “The WOscars was put together to celebrate our students and mark their achievements, as well as, provide them with an insight into how professional awards ceremonies operate, further equipping them with the skills and experiences that will set them apart from the crowd. The ceremony is an opportunity for students to dress up, be accompanied by their loved ones, be recognised for their efforts and watch their work on the big screen. Our students have worked incredibly hard and have created amazing pieces of work, I believe that students seeing the celebration of creativity is important. It is a great feeling!”
West Herts College aims to equip all students with the necessary skills, career experiences and mindset required to be successful in their desired fields.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
