Film and TV Media students produce a Promotional advert for Corona Energy

Four of our Film and TV students have been producing an advert for Corona Energy, promoting the personal development of internal employees. The advert intends to attract new recruits to the company. Students, Jack Davey, Rosalind Holmes, Oliver Peirce Gregory and Alexander Hexter, are looking forward to filming the advert in the upcoming months having successfully completed a test shoot in preparation.

The students are conducting the project on behalf of West Herts Productions, the new production company set up by our year two Media students. The students made the most of the recent test shoot, ensuring that the lighting, cameras and microphones were all functioning correctly.

Having completed the test shoot, one of our Level 3 Creative Media Production students, Jack Davey, said: “It went really well, we all worked well as a team and the communication between us was perfect. It was a really productive test shoot and we got all the relevant information that we need to conduct the real shoot.”

Internal recruitment advisor at Corona Energy, Molly Kenneally, said: “The project team have been extremely professional, great at communicating and most importantly, have shared their artistic ideas with us. This is a great opportunity for the students to use the skills they have learnt at College in a professional environment and it will benefit them greatly when they apply for university and future employment.

This project will improve students’ skills preparing them for entering the Film and TV industry. Experiences like this one will massively boost the confidence of the students, particularly given the fact that they have been responsible for the project from start to finish.

Media tutor, Jonathan Vianello, said: “Having the students work to produce video content for a large company like Corona Energy has allowed them to work under professional conditions and to professional expectations. They have been involved in every aspect of production throughout, from client meetings to emailing and arranging shoots. Their attitude has been fantastic!”
