Fashion students visit Museum of London - suffragette exhibition

West Herts College fashion students recently visited the Museum of London where the suffragette exhibition was on show.

The trip formed primary research for the first year’s final major project and they’ll use the inspiration for initial ideas but have the freedom to take the project in any direction.

They looked at garments, posters, powerful imagery and videos from the suffragette movement.

Hannah Gordon, Art & Design coordinator, said: “Some of the fashion students are interested in the themes around the suffragette movement itself and some will look at imagery or events from the whole time period. The exhibition was a real eye-opener for them, they realised the suffragettes fought so they can have the rights they have today.”
