Fashion students at London Fashion Week
Level 3 Fashion students were given the opportunity to work for House of iKons, a global brand that launches emerging designers, during London Fashion Week 2018. The students undertook a range of positions, including dressers, front of house, backstage, social media and assisting in production. Deborah Adelabu, Second-in-Command for House of iKons, said: “The team and the designers gave me so much positive feedback about the students we had at the show and how helpful they were, with many saying they were the best we’ve ever had.”
Not only did the students get to experience the excitement of London Fashion Week, a select group were also interviewed by local radio station Vibe 107.6FM about their placement and were featured on the station’s breakfast and drivetime shows. Student Abby Cramer said of the event: "The job I want to get into when I finish college is styling. From this experience I now know what it takes to be a stylist at a fashion show, and how hard I have to work to get to that."
This was a fantastic opportunity for students interested in a career in the fashion industry to get hands-on experience working in a real show, giving them insight into the industry and a great talking point for their CVs!
